Day 9:

FR – today is the first day that I had no desire to exercise. However, I did get up off my dead a$$, and got it done.
I had to get out of the house early this morning to go to the vampires and get my blood drawn. I’m hopeful my blood work comes back showing improvement, I think it will. I do feel much better than I did when I started this 9 days ago.

As for exercise, I rode the stationary bike for 28 minutes and got in 6 miles. Then I did some arm weights, some bag work and also push-ups. I’m glad I did it, even if I didn’t want to when I started. I upped my weight goals to three sets of 10. I am now tired and really hungry. This photo shows the difference between Day 2 and Day 9 of my workout routine.
Stay healthy my friends, have a great week!

Day 8:

We had to get up stupid early (4am) in order to get Apryl and Levi to the airport this morning. Given I got about 3 hours of sleep last night (epic Yahtzee marathon), I took it easy today with the workout. Rode the stationary bike for 40 minutes, at 9mph, and got in 6 miles total. Today was rest day for my arms – so no bag work, pushups or weights. It’s amazing how much better I feel today, versus how I felt the evening of the 18th at the hospital.

Yesterday was cool. Jeney and I took Apryl and Levi over to see my parents. They had not met Levi yet, and that went great. Apryl hadn’t seen her grandparents since before covid started. It was wonderful to be able to get them together so they could get hugs and have great conversation. It was awesome to have them here, even if only for 36 hours.

Day 7:

Today’s workout was a bit shorter since @aprylgouldcx and @levi_p4019 are in town. Rode the bike for 10 minutes, 5 minutes of light bag work and 5 minutes of light weights. Didn’t want to miss a day tho!

Then we hit the @oldtowntemeculafarmersmarket for @redsambusas & fresh veggies – yum!! Then a stroll down to @temeculaoliveoilcompany for a fresh batch of oils and vinegars. So good!!

Have a wonderful weekend my friends!!

Day 6:

Today’s workout was very non-traditional. Another incredibly busy day which included a follow up visit to the doctor, (I’ll get to that later).
Because we have @aprylgouldcx and @levi_p4019 coming into town (YEAH
), I had to move some stuff around and get what is now my workout room converted back into a bedroom so that they have somewhere to sleep.
So the workout entailed moving boxes/furniture, cleaning and organizing. All told, it was about 35 minutes worth of work – and I did get into the cardio zone, getting my BPM up to about 140.
Now for the doctor stuff, since many of you have asked. My doctor looked over my test results from the hospital stay, looked at me, and determined that I have three issues going on:
One, I have bronchitis.
Two, I had gastroenteritis.
Three, I do have an additional internal infection, aside from the bronchitis.
I do have another set of tests that I’ll be doing next week after Apryl and Levi head back to Denver. The doctor felt confident that the majority of the numbers should come back into line to where they should be and I’ll be on the mend. I’ll be picking up my antibiotics this afternoon.

Due to my high pain tolerance, it never occurred to me that I had all this going on in such a manner that it would send me to the hospital. The good part is, I now know what’s going on. All three of these issues combined to severely dehydrate me, stress my body big time, and create a situation where my body was freaking TF out.

The love you all have sent me has meant so much to me. Knowing I have so many people that love me and are in my corner is amazing.

Now the mission continues, get to optimum health!

Day 5:

This is a big one for me. I don’t know that I’ve strung together five consecutive days of working out since I stopped playing baseball in high school. That was a few years ago, lol.
Today is also 7 days sober. I wasn’t doing hard drugs, but drinking everyday was taking a toll both mentally and physically. Not to mention all the late night snacking that ensued. I’ve cut all that out.

Can’t lie, the first few days were rough. Coming out of my little hospital stay and feeling physically terrible, I was also all in my head with anxiety and depression. Knowing that going forward in the same direction wasn’t working for me, a change had to be made. I don’t know if this sober thing is a permanent deal, but seven days in, it feels all right. Working out has helped for sure.
Today I’ve got another crazy busy work day so I could only fit in a 30 minute workout this morning. I did 16 minutes on the bike, averaged 15 mph, about 4 miles. Did 5 minutes working the bag, 5 minutes lifting some weights. Then I did a cool down.
Today’s workout soundtrack: Ekoh – his new album (The D4tour) is 100%
! Check it out.Much love to everybody who has reached out both in the comment sections and by private message. I appreciate and love you all.
Have a kick ass day!

Day 4:

I’ve got a crazy busy schedule today, but didn’t want to miss out on keeping consistency.
I started out on the stationary bike the first day at 8 miles an hour, second day 10 miles an hour, third day 11.5 miles an hour. Today I averaged 13.5 miles an hour. Went 25 minutes for 5.3 miles.
Sorry (not sorry) if I bore you with my daily exercise updates. This gives me a feeling of accountability, which I feel I need.

My good friend Samantha Kilbourne told me about this coconut water as a post-workout beverage. It’s full of electrolytes, and some of the key minerals that my body was not retaining appropriately that landed me in the hospital last week. It’s pretty tasty.
Hope you all have a kick-ass day!
***UPDATE*** – this drink is great, but it has quite a bit of sugar in it. I have decided to use it only on occasion, not everyday.

Day 3:

-
Day 2:

20 min on the bike, 10 min on the bag. Arms feel like jello.
Apparently I need this – lol.

-
…and so it begins, Day 1:

Got on this mf’r this afternoon. I’ve got to get my cardio health back in order. Took it relatively easy, but rode for 30 min, got 4 miles in.

Can’t lie, I’m a bit tired now, but feel better for doing it. I appreciate all the love you have shown, means the world to me.

A night in the hospital…

So yeah, this was me the other night at @llumcmurrieta – at least they took great care of me.

Of course, Jeney was by my side being the loving wife she always has been.

I’m home now, feeling a bit better. I’m on my way to being back to my

self.Sometimes you just try to do too damn much and your body says: nope!

Moral of the story:
Take good care of yourself. You’ve got only one adventure on this planet and you can’t be everything to everyone all the time.
